Learn how to replace a reciprocating saw blade in this free power tools video.
In this video clip I’m going to show you how to replace a saw blade in a reciprocating saw. The first step to install a blade is to unplug the saw. The next thing you need to do is pull back on the blade clamp release lever; and you’re going to have to hold this because if you let go it’ll snap back in. Once you pull back on that lever, you’re going to go ahead and slide the blade in the front, and you might have to wiggle it a little bit to get it in there, and release that blade clamp and you’re going to try to pull the blade out, and if the blade come out that means that it didn’t get clamped properly. To remove a blade you’re going to follow the same procedures: you’re going to lift up on this blade clamp and you’re going to pull out the blade. Now one thing you want to be very careful of is that if you’ve just cut something the blade is going to be very hot, so you’re not going to want to touch it.
