Usually if we’re talking about it in its basic form we’re talking about the henna plant. Henna’s a plant that grows and it flowers. The flowers are very beautiful and produce an extremely aromatic perfume that was actually said to be the prophet Mohammed’s favorite scent. Henna actually goes back to biblical times and even before that. We find examples of henna in the Bible in the song of psalms. It’s referred to as carmine. Henna is also known to be present in ancient Samaria and Canun so it’s been around for quite awhile. "
