We are continuing on with the hot stone massage. We’ve just demonstrated how to do the lower back, and now we are going to do the upper back. With the upper back, you tend to want to concentrate in the rhomboid area here between the scapulas, or the shoulder blades, and the trapezius, which run all the way down the back and all the way down into the hips. There are different techniques once again that you can use to massage the upper back, and once again, you need to have a running commentary with your client. How’s the depth today? Real good. Excellent. There are many different strokes that you can use on the upper back. For hot stone massage, it is usually a fairly firm stroke but not real deep.
