Warm up with hip flexor stretching; learn simple stretches for long muscles, flexibility, and protection from injury in this free video.
The net stretch I'm going to show you is the hip flexor stretch. You are going to be on the floor. You are going to place one leg in front of you in a bent position. Now from here your opposite leg is extended behind you. You're going to drop down onto your forearms. And you're going to feel this - you may feel this in different areas, depending on where you are most tight. I'm feeling it in my hips. If your very flexible you can bring your foot up a little higher. You also may feel it in your glut. Maybe a little bit in your hamstring. You're going to repeat on the other side. I'll show you on the other side. Now if your very very tight; and your hip flexors, your hamstrings and your gluts, this is going to be a very difficult one. So I would recommend you start with standing hip flexor stretches and standing or lying down hamstring stretches. So once again on the other side. And that stretch will stretch your glut, your hamstring. Once again depending on where you are personally more tight.
