Learn useful pre-game golf stretches with expert tips in this free golf instruction video.
Hi! I am Jason Wyatt, head golf professional at Sunnydale Golf & Country Club and I am here today to show you how to properly stretch before your round. The biggest thing we want to do is stretch our core part of our body; this is the biggest piece of the body that we use during the day. So what we would like to do is we will grab a golf club; I use my seven iron. We are going to start with moving the golf club to the side, again stretching the core part of our body. We are going to hold that stretch for 10 seconds and then we are going to repeat back to the other side, again stretching the other side of our core. Our arms are also very, very big in the keyhole scheme of things, so what we are going to do is to take our hands, we are going to lift them our front, grab the front and pull back. We will hold that stretch again for 10 seconds then move to the next hand. What we are doing is here is stretching part of the hand, part of the forearm, again just making sure that our core part of our body is ready to go for a golf game. Last stretch I would like to see is making sure if you have a golf cart this is probably the best thing to do, just step up onto the golf cart, we are going to hold onto the golf cart and we are going to stretch our calves. What we are going to do is actually going to put our feet up on the board, This was the board, here are my clubs and we are going to actually let our heels go down to the ground; again, stretching the calves and the hamstrings for our golf swing. If you use these easy stretching and warm up tips, it will help you play better golf the next time you are out.
