Welcome to Expert Village. My name is Dr. Ed Riffel. O'kay now we are going to work the abdominal muscles. We are going to be doing a sit up. First I am going to put my hands on my legs and just do a little crunch up tightening the abdominal muscles here. We will do several reps. We will do three reps. Now a little bit more advanced, I am going to cross my hands and cross my chest and I will do a few crunches. You will feel the abs working, there should not be any pain with this. If there is pain either go back up or readjust your position. This is not to be done if you have any acute muscle spasms or any acute back problems. This is intermediate and then advanced, put your hands over the head and go up. You are working the rectus abdominis mainly toning those muscles. Now a little bit more advanced, hands over the head and you are going up like this.
