"When starting your yoga practice, you want to open up through the sides. Get some air through the ribcage. So, Emily is going to be doing some nice side stretches. So, I'm going to have you drop your hands to your sides, take a nice inhale (one breath); exhale out completely; inhale up your right arm; exhale side stretching over to your left. Keep the chest and shoulders facing forward. Inhale up; exhale and release the arm down. Other side: inhale up left arm; turn palm to face that way; exhale to the right; opening across the ribcage. Inhaling up; exhaling and release that hand down. Perfect with slow movements. Inhaling up the right arm; exhale side stretching over to the left. A little bit deeper this time. Inhaling up -- nice straight spine; exhaling releasing the arm down. Inhaling up the left arm with palm facing away; exhaling over to the right (a little bit deeper this time) -- beautiful. Inhaling up; exhaling arm down. Take a nice deep inhale; exhale into Namaste. Heart center."
