We’re going to show you some pommel horse basics. This is a pommel horse. First thing you’ll probably do, walk up, grab one hand in each pommel, jump up, and hold yourself up. This is called front support; you’re just holding yourself up. Try not to be here, that’ll lift yourself up out of your shoulders. Next exercise would to bring your knees up and through the middle and put them in the front. I’m not sitting down, hold my hips straight, and my head up. This is a rear support. That would be your first exercise, from front to rear without sitting down. If you do further, you would take one hand off and the other hand off. Then you can take one leg and you can do a leg cut. Again, I’m not sitting down; I’m holding myself up. So then you do leg cuts to front support, leg cut to rear support.
