"Hi I'm Mike Rogers and on the uses of a mig welder. This stage is how to join two pieces of steel in a butt joint. So we have two pieces all we are going to create is a longer piece of steel so this could be to create a area or to repair a section of a vehicle or a chest or something we need to join this together. If we just lay them like that and weld we wouldn't get a very good not a very strong join on the steel. So we are going to V this with the angle grinder before we try to weld them together. Lets show you. First you clamp the steel down before you use the welder. You would use a simple friction clamp for this job. Then we use our angle grinder. Don't forget the safety. Already. I'm doing this to both piece of steel we are going to create a V section to the half of thickness to the battle. Okay as you could see now when we weld this together we are going to have that nice V ...to feed the weld into."
