Hello, this is Gabriela Garzon at G.G. Image and Etiquette Consulting in Miami, Florida. In this clip I'm going to talk about how to tell if pearls are real. In order to know if they're artificial or they're genuine pearls, what you have to know is that pearls have kind of like a rugged texture that gives you if you can see here, that it has like a little line, it's not all the way smooth. You can see that the they all have little lines around it making it a little rough and they're not exactly perfectly rounded. When you do see the ones that are rounded you can still see the rugged texture on the side like the line. See this one doesn't have much but it still has like a little line right there. Now one way to know is that you can get two pearls and you can actually rub them and if I by hand the texture is still in the rugged and I mean textured, rugged, then you know they are genuine. If they are completely smooth like this one right here, you can see that they're perfectly rounded completely smooth and actually they have this different shine on them and the color is exact, then you know that they're artificial. Pearls have a slightly different tone on the sides and that is also another way to know that they are actually real. Once again, this is Gabriela Garzon at G.G.
