Checking the transmission fluid involves turning on the car, allowing it to idle in park, locating the transmission dipstick and checking the fluid levels indicated there. Check the transmission fluid regularly, adding more fluid when needed, with tips from an auto repair shop manager in this free video on car maintenance.
Hi today I'm going to demonstrate how to check the transmission fluid in this Nissan Maxima. First of all I need to start the car. Any time the cars require the correct level for the transmission to be checked, the car needs to be hot and idling in park. Once the vehicle is running you want to proceed to the front where you will locate the transmission dipstick and remove it. Once it is removed you will get a reading off the transmission by simply looking at the level that the fluid rises on the dipstick, get a proper reading and reinstall it in the dipstick holder. At that point you'll either add fluid or in this case it would be fine.
