Remove the tuner and the supplied batteries from their packaging.

Turn your tuner over onto its face in both hands, and slide the battery chamber cover away in the direction of the arrow with your thumb.

Insert two AA batteries into the battery compartment, being certain to mind the polarity indicators which are printed on the inside of the compartment.

Replace the battery chamber cover by sliding it into position until it snaps audibly into place.

Plug your instrument's output cord into the tuner's input jack (located on the right side of the tuner). Push the "Power" button (located on the front panel of the tuner just above the "Seiko" label to the left) to turn the tuner on.

Choose your tuning mode by pushing the "Selector" button. Push the "Up" or "Down" key to choose between "Auto" or "Manual" tuning mode. If you select the "Manual" tuning mode, push the "Selector" button to highlight "Note," and then push the "Up" or "Down" button to select the specific note you want.

Switch the reference pitch by pressing the "Selector" button until you reach "Pitch." Push the "Up" or "Down" button to select the frequency you desire.

Start playing your instrument to give the tuner notes. If your instrument is acoustic (with an output cord plugged into the tuner) get close to the tuner with your instrument, so the tuner can pick up the notes with its internal microphone.

Tune your instrument, until the green LED light in the centre of the tuner illuminates and the tuning meter's pointer sits steadily at the "0" position of the meter. Should the indicator light to the left of the green centre light illuminate, the instrument tuning is flat and needs additional tuning. Should the indicator light to the right of the green centre light illuminate, the instrument tuning is sharp and requires further tuning.
