Granite is found in many outdoor areas and is commonly used in the construction of statues, monuments and other symbolic structures that are designed to last for many years. Granite can also be found around the exterior of some homes, where it is used as a wall material near pool and patio areas. Exterior granite walls can be cleaned easily with a few simple ingredients.

Mix 1 gallon of warm water and 1/4 cup of neutral dish soap in a bucket.

Dip a sponge or cleaning cloth into the soapy water, and wipe over the wall using large circular motions. Start at the top of the wall, and work your way down. Use a ladder if needed to reach the top of the wall.

Dip a cleaning cloth in fresh water and rinse each section as you clean it. This will remove any leftover soap residue.

Work your way across the top of the wall, then down until you have cleaned the entire granite wall.

Remove stains by mixing a paste of baking soda and water until you have formed a thick peanut butter-like consistency. Apply a thick layer of the paste to the stain, let sit until dry, then wipe with a damp sponge.

TIP

Apply an optional layer of granite cleaner to the wall to restore shine. This is typically a rub-on cleaner that is wiped onto the surface. Granite cleaner can be found at any home improvement or superstore.
