Hi I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm going to show you how to clean a mattress. Mattresses do have an expiration date because they collect dust mites. They can also collect mold and mildew so when you are ready for a new one you can usually tell by lying on it if it feels uncomfortable, if you are waking up and your back is hurting it is time for a new mattress. But in the meantime if you want to clean it, remove all the sheets and everything obviously off your mattress, sprinkle some oh let's see this one has a mattress cover, sprinkle some baking soda all over your mattress. Let it sit for a while maybe even a couple of hours. This will help take any smells and help dry up you know if there is any moist spots or stains or anything like that, the baking soda will help. You may want to spot treat it with a laundry cleaner like a laundry spot remover then after it is dry use your vacuum to vacuum every square inch of the mattress. Then you're going to flip it over and do the exact same thing to the other side. You flip it over and turn it 180 degrees. I'll show you real quick what you're going to do with the vacuum. You really want to get every every inch of the mattress and this will get rid of most of your dust mites. Your mattress will be fresh and clean and I would say do that twice a year, should be enough. I'm Rachel Yatuzis and that is how you clean a mattress.
