Developed for use by middle school-aged children and younger high school students, the Casio FX 992S scientific calculator has a keypad with large, easy to access buttons, but can also complete 383 different functions. The FX 992S has a dual power source, a battery complemented by solar-powered cells, for long life and low energy costs. This Casio scientific calculator can be used to complete various equations for students of engineering, calculus or any general education student.

Press the button labelled "On." Wait until the digit 0 is displayed in the calculator's screen. Continue to press the "On" button until this number appears.

Select any calculation, display or other types of modes which you must enable on your Casio FX 992S to complete your equation properly. Press the "MODE" key, found on the upper right-hand corner of the keypad, once to select from the four calculation modes: general computation (COMP), standard deviation (SD), linear regressions (LR) and complex number (CMPLX).After pressing "MODE," select the number which corresponds to the calculation mode you wish to choose.

Press "MODE" twice to bring up the selection menu display of different units of measurement for equations involving angle measurements. Pressing "MODE" three times brings up display mode options for fixing the display to a certain number of decimals or digits. Four "MODE" clicks allows the user to select engineering mode, and five brings up the option to enter BASE-N mode to switch between number systems, if necessary.

Enter the first digits of the equation which you wish to enter into your Casio FX 992S scientific calculator. The data entry keys consist of the digits 0 through 9 as well as the decimal key (.)

Select the operation which you wish to perform on the figure entered into the calculator display on your Casio FX 992S scientific calculator. If the operation icon does not occur directly on a key but just above the key and to the left, press the "SHIFT" key, which rests on the upper left-hand corner of the keypad, and then the operational key to engage that operation. Operations located above the key and to the right can only be engaged by the "SHIFT" button when the calculator is in "BASE-N" mode.

Enter the numerical figure into the calculator which follows in your equation. Select another operation on the calculator or select the equal sign (=) to end the equation.
