You can repair an OXO Salad Spinner in minutes without a single tool. The plunger design of the OXO Salad Spinner was inspired by a child's toy top. A series of gears turns to rapidly spin a basket of greens when the user presses down on the centre button. Unfortunately, the plunger can become misaligned and stick in the down position. Release and realign the plunger to get the basket spinning and the salad greens dry.

Hold the black plunger in place as you slowly twist the lid until resistance is reached. Gently continue to twist the lid against the resistance until you hear and feel a click. The plunger can now freely rise up from the lid.

Wipe down the lid and plunger with a soft sponge if they are sticky or covered in food debris. Small scraps of lettuce may jam the plunger and send it off centre. Wash the bowl and basket on the top rack of the dishwasher.

Lower the plastic basket into the bowl so it is centred on the pivot point in the bowl's base. Cover the bowl with the lid and press down on the plunger.

Reposition the bowl and replace the lid if the gears are not connecting and turning the basket. If the plunger is not operating easily and spinning the basket there may be a need for replacement parts. OXO offers a warranty to replace their broken products through a contact on their website.

TIP

The OXO Salad Spinner with a stainless steel bowl is less likely to crack or break during use and cleaning.
