Many models of the Honda Element are equipped with an immobiliser antitheft system that disables the engine's fuel system if it is triggered. The immobiliser system is activated when an improperly coded key or other device is used to attempt to start the engine. The engine of the Element will not be able to be started until the system is reset.

Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" position.

Remove the key from the ignition.

Re-insert the key into the ignition.
