In 2007, Google added a new feature to Google Maps. Street View enables you to leave a street map or satellite view and see and explore locations at ground level. Google doesn't yet have a built-in function for saving a Street View photo. You can save a copy for your own personal use, however, by cutting and pasting the picture to your PC.

Go to maps.google.com, type in a location and press "Enter."

Click and hold the golden "pegman" and drag it to a location you want to see in Street View. The photo appears.

Click the "Full screen" icon in the top-right of the street-view picture. This enlarges the picture to fill your entire screen.

Press the "Prnt Scrn" key to copy the picture, once any temporary prompts have disappeared. You can usually find "Prnt Scrn" near the top right of the keyboard.

Click "Full screen" again to return to the ordinary browser size.

Click the Windows "Start" button, and type "Paint" in the search box, then click "Paint" to open the program.

Press "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time on your keyboard. This pastes the picture into the program.

Click the "Save" icon, type in a name, select a file format, such as .bmp or .jpg, and click "Save" to save your Google Street View picture.
