How to Make Yahoo! My Home Page

Updated February 21, 2017

Making Yahoo! your home page will require a few adjustments. Each time you open your Web browser, you will see the default page that the browser recognises. Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari will allow you to navigate to your Yahoo! home page, but you will need to change some settings so that your home page appears each time you open your browser.

Click on the “Tools” button in the browser toolbar at the top of the window. From the drop-down menu, select “Options” to open the pop-up window. These steps are for Safari, internet Explorer and Firefox.

Look under the “General” tab or “Main” tab. In the box that says “Home Page,” enter "http://my.yahoo.com." Click on “OK” at the bottom of the window to set your home page to My Yahoo!

Set the generic Yahoo home page by entering "www.yahoo.com" into the home page box. Click on “OK” to set this page as your default Yahoo! starting page. From here, you can enter your favourite websites for a quick shortcut. At the top of the page is the “My Yahoo” button, which will take you to your main home page after you are done exploring your other favourite websites.
