Two types of sun visors are available for purchase to enhance the protection of standard visors in automobiles. They vary in size, style and price. Sunshades also are available as an option.

Interior sun visors are situated above the driver's side and front passenger seat. They take the place of the visors that come standard in most vehicles. Interior visors block light from the auto's windshield and side windows. They often feature mirrors, CD holders and even small lights.

External sun visors are installed above the windshield and may be left in place indefinitely. Some automobiles come equipped with these sun visors installed on top of the windshield. If that's not the case, you could have one installed at a later time.

Sun Shades

In addition to internal and external sun visors, portable sunshades are available. Although sun shades aren't designed for use while you're driving, they keep the car's interior cool. Flexible sunshades are placed on the dashboard and windshield.
