Recommended Calibration Settings for the Sony Bravia KDL32XBR4

The Sony BRAVIA KDL-32XBR4 is a 32-inch high-definition television set. Part of Sony's XBR4 series of TVs, this set features several upgrades over preceding models, swappable frames (bezels) to enhance your decor, better picture quality and a 120 Hz MotionFlow refresh rate. To get the best picture quality from the set, you may need to calibrate its picture settings. Using Sony's recommended settings for any XBR4 series television should give you the best results.

Picture Mode

Set the overall picture mode to "Cinema." Color Temperature should be set to "Warm 2," while the Aspect Ratio should be set to "Full."

Picture Settings

Set Backlight to a value of "3." Set Picture, which is also the set's contrast, to a value of "80." Set Brightness to a value of "52." Set Color to a value of "54." Set Hue to "R3." Set Sharpness to a value of "40."

Advanced Settings

All of the advanced settings, such as Noise Reduction, Gamma and Detail Enhancer, should be set to "Off." The Color Space settings should be set to "Standard."

Video Options

Set the Motion Enhancer to "Standard," Cinemotion to "Auto" and Video Color Space to "Normal."


The Display Area setting should be set to "Full Pixel."
