Shell Rotella is a line of heavy-duty, multigrade oils designed for use in powerful diesel and gasoline engines. The oils may be used in over-the-road vehicles such as semi tractors, as well as in construction and other off-road vehicles. The Rotella line is designed to reduce engine wear and engine deposits, as well as to protect against the corrosive effects of acids created by internal combustion.

Shell Rotella T Multigrade

Shell Rotella T is available in two grades, 15W-40 and 10W-30. The 15W-40 product has a viscosity of 118 cSt (centistokes) at 40 degrees Celsius and 15.7 cSt at 100 degrees Celsius . It has a viscosity index of 141. It has an open-cup flash point of 213 degrees Celsius and a minimum pour temperature of minus 36 degrees Celsius .

The 10W-30 product has a viscosity of 11.9 cSt at 100 degrees Celsius and a viscosity index of 115. Its open-cup flash point is 210 degrees Celsius and its lowest pour point is minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Shell Rotella T Synthetic

This fully synthetic heavy-duty oil is available in a 5W-40 grade. It has a viscosity of 90 cSt at 40 degrees Celsius and 15.0 at 100 degrees Celsius. Its pour point is minus 40 degrees Celsius and its flash point is 222 degrees Celsius. It exhibits a low-temperature cranking viscosity of 6,400 cP (centipoise) at minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Shell Rotella SB Synthetic-Blend

SB Synthetic-Blend is a line of oils designed specifically for diesel engines. The oils are available in 10W-40, 10W-30 and 0W-30 grades. The 10W-40 product displays a viscosity of 13.5 cSt at 100 degrees Celsius. Its pour point is minus 33 degrees Celsius and its flash point is 207 degrees Celsius.

The 10W-30 product has a viscosity of 12.1 cSt at 100 degrees Celsius. Its minimum pour point temperature is minus 36 degrees Celsius and its flash point is 207 degrees Celsius.

The 0W-30 Synthetic-Blend exhibits a viscosity of 11.3 cSt at 100 degrees Celsius, a pour point of minus 45 degrees Celsius and a flash point of 210 degrees Celsius.
