An insignia is an identifying marking on a vehicle. This insignia, or emblem, is found on the front of the hood. Without the presence of an insignia, many people have trouble identifying the maker of a car. If you have spotted a foreign car with wings for an insignia, there are several possibilities as to the manufacturer.
Aston Martin is a company, based in the United Kingdom, that specialises in high-end, luxury sports cars. The Aston Martin insignia features two wide wings with the words "Aston Martin" emblazoned in the centre. Aston Martin manufactures the Vanquish, V8 Vantage and the DBR series of race vehicles.
Bentley is another luxury car manufacturer based in the United Kingdom. Its logo features two wings flying out from a centre circle that contains a large capital "B." Bentleys are known for their high cost and are frequently mentioned in pop culture, especially among musicians. Bentley models include the Flying Spur, Continental GT and Azure.
Invicta, another United Kingdom vehicle manufacturer, has a history in that their cars were manufactured into the 1930s, then taken off the assembly line. The company returned in the 1940s, but was quickly bought out. Invicta's winged brand showed up again on the Invicta S1, a car released in 2004. The Invicta logo uses two multicoloured wings with the word "Invicta" running vertically down the centre.
