Though Yamaha does not manufacture complete go-karts, the company has produced one high-performance go-kart engine in recent years. Yamaha engineers developed the KT100 go-kart engine specifically for high performance on the racetrack.

The KT100 go-kart engine includes a few features that increase speed and efficiency. The engine includes a built-in carburettor, which gives drivers more control of the engine's speed. It also features a complete ignition system that helps drivers start their engines quickly.

The KT100 features a 100cc engine which develops between 16 horsepower and 20 horsepower. Its two-stroke design increases go-kart power, throttle response and acceleration.

The KT100 weighs only 9.53kg., thanks, in part, to its two-stroke engineering. Thus, the KT100 puts less of a burden on the go-kart and allows for greater speed and maneuverability when installed.
