Features

This generator is legal in all 50 states and meets CARB (California Air Resource Board) regulations. The glass wool construction offers an absorbing casing designed to muffle noise. The unit can run for up to 12 hours without needing to refuel. The time the unit can run depends largely on what devices are connected to it. For example, if a 1000 watt device is connected and powered by the generator, then it would only last 12 hours. However, if a 200 watt device is connected, the length the generator can last without refuelling can be extended since the generator is not running at full capacity. The unit has a smart throttle that will adjust the output of power to match whatever is connected. This helps conserve fuel and reduce noise. The EF1000iS also have a 12 V DC output with charging cable. This can be used to recharge the battery in a car. The EF1000iS has a 50cc motor.

Specifications

The EF1000iS costs £571 as of October 2010. It has a maximum output of 1,000 watts with a rated AC output of 900 watts. The rated AC current is 7.5 with a maximum of 8.3. The unit has a voltage stability of ± 1 % and frequency stability of ± 0.1HZ. The engine is OHV MZ50, which is air cooled, four stroke and single cylinder. The noise level is 47 DBA to 57 dba. This generator comes with a three-year warranty.

Size

The EF1000iS is 17.7 inches long, 9.4 inches wide and 14.9 inches high. It has a dry weight of 12.7kg. and can hold .66 gallons. Most generators with similar power outputs are considerably larger and less portable. The compact size of this generator contributes to its slightly higher price tag.

Accessories

This generator can be used with a number of accessories such as the "Am/Watt Appliance Load Tester." This device will measure the amps or watts used by AC devices (such as power tools, appliances and other 120 V electronics.) This allows the user to make sure that the device will not draw too much power from the generator safely.
