Boston Acoustics BA735 speakers are s speaker set that was packaged with Gateway computers. The set includes two small stereo satellite speakers and a subwoofer. While they are no longer available new, used models should be easy to find if you are looking for an inexpensive set of computer speakers. They have only digital input, so you can't use them with an audio source other than a computer.

The two satellite speakers are each 3.25 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep by 3.5 inches tall, roughly a cube. One of the satellites has volume and treble dials on the face. The subwoofer is 6 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep by 7.75 inches tall, and houses a 4.5 inch speaker cone. The cones in the satellites are 2.5 inches in diameter. The subwoofer has a level dial on it for separate volume control of the bass channel.

Audio Characteristics

The satellites each put out 3 watts of power, and have an amplifier gain of 27 decibels. They have a frequency range from 200 Hz to 20 kHz, with an error of +/- 0.6 decibels. The subwoofer has a response curve of 50 Hz to 200 Hz. The subwoofer puts out 6 watts of power, and has an amplifier gain of 47 decibels.

Power

The subwoofer takes its power supply from the wall, which it them uses to drive the satellites. In the United States, it uses a power supply unit that takes in 110 volt AC and outputs 1.5 amps at 12 volts AC. In case of a power surge, the subwoofer has a 12 volt, 6 amp fuse which is not replaceable.
