If you're from Greece--or are buying a gift for someone who is put together a personalised traditional Greek gift. These gift ideas can be used for birthday, anniversary or other special gifts. Traditional Greek-inspired gifts can range from foods to memorabilia.

Baklava is a traditional Greek dessert. Bake the dessert at home or find a Greek bakery in your area to purchase some at. This baked dessert is thin sheets of pastry with spiced nuts in alternating layers. After the dough is baked syrup is poured on top.

Gyro Kit

Gyros are a staple of Greek cuisine. Gyros are pita bread filled with beef, chicken or lamb with vegetables. The Gyro kits include seasoned meat, pita bread, and tzatziki sauce. Tzatziki sauce is cucumbers, Greek yoghurt, and olive oil made into a creamy sandwich topping. Traditionally you eat it with lettuce, tomato, and onions which is not included in the kit but can be easily purchased at your local grocery store.

Greek Gift Basket

Make a gift basket with Greek inspired items. Grape leaves, olives, pita bread with a cookbook are a great idea for a cook. A bottle of ouzo, traditional anise-flavoured liquor, is also a nice addition to a Greek gift basket. Accent the basket with white and blue ribbons or other decorations to highlight the traditional colours of Greece.
