The Sony XS-L100P5W Xplod is a 10-inch subwoofer with the ability to withstand up to 1100 watts of power and produce bass signals as low as 25 hertz. Although its driver has a unique pentagonal shape, the Xplod can be easily mounted in a regular subwoofer box with a round opening.

Although the 10-inch Xplod subwoofer is designed to reproduce bass signals as low as 25 hertz, it can also do double duty as a mid-range driver due to its ability to go as high as 2500 hertz.


Sony rates the XS-L100P5W to withstand 300 watts of power, with peak power handling of up to 1100 watts. It produces 88 decibels of sound at a distance of one meter with a single watt of input power, and presents a standard four-ohm load to the amplifier.

Driver Specifications

The Xplod has a 10-inch woofer with a single pair of input terminals. Each of the two terminals, positive and negative, accept speaker wires with 7/16-inch of bare wire.

Dimensions & Mounting Information

This 10-inch subwoofer requires a 9-1/4-inch circular cutout for mounting. It also needs an enclosure made of wood that is 19 millimetres thick. It weighs nine pounds and one ounce.
