Many corporations send out holiday gift baskets during the Christmas season. Gift basket recipients typically include large clients and prospective customers. The main point of such gifts is to thank customers for their business, promote the company and continue to build the client-business relationship. If you are in charge of planning this year's Christmas baskets, you'll have many basket items to choose from.
Food and Drink
Most corporate Christmas gift baskets include some form of food or drink as the holiday season is a time for eating and drinking merriment. Such baskets range from small and simple to large, elaborate versions for prized customers. Simple baskets may include an assortment of different types of nuts, coffee and chocolates, or even sausages, cheese and crackers. Some companies send fruit baskets if they sell health-conscience products, while others send themed baskets, such as Italian foods or kosher products. For more expensive basket arrangements, include some form of spirit or alcohol in your gift. Many clients enjoy a basket with a bottle of wine and cheese. If you plan to send a bottle of liquor to a client, however, be sure to send the recipient's preferred brand. Always ensure that your client drinks before sending any form of alcohol in your gift basket.
Hobbies
Clients who spend a lot of money with your company each year usually receive baskets centered around their favorite hobby themes. For example, you could send a Christmas basket loaded with golf balls, tees and some sort of specialty item, such as a ball marker or a putting tips book, to a client who loves to be out on the golf course. You can also add a crystal paperweight shaped like the head of a golf iron in this type of basket. Other common hobby basket themes include fishing items for the angler and gift cards or gift certificates for a fashionista. Be sure to send a non-specific gift card, such as a Visa or American Express gift card, if you're not sure about your client's favorite stores.
Corporate Culture
Some corporations send company logo office items to clients in Christmas gift baskets. These may include desk or wall calendars decorated with your company's logo and photos. You may also include your logo on golf shirts, sweaters or windbreakers. Cost-efficient company logo items include coffee mugs, memory sticks and umbrellas. More expensive items include clothing, clocks and laptop bags. If you purchase these items in volume or bulk, you can save money.
