If you are travelling by air and need to carry a rifle or handgun with you, it's important to know which gun cases are TSA approved. You don't want to arrive at the airport and find out that your gun cannot be carried in the case you brought. For hunters, it's also important to use the appropriate case, so that your gun will arrive safely.

Hard Pistol Cases

There are many hard pistol cases available for storing and transporting your weapon. You will only be able to store one gun per travel case and must keep any ammunition separate. Ensure that hard pistol cases are unlocked when you go through airport security. A hard case is TSA approved and will allow you to check a weapon without damaging it. Some cases also have extra storage for carrying accessories.

SKB Multi-Gun Cases

SKB is a well-known gun case manufacturer that makes a case moulded of ultra-high molecular-weight polythene, the same material that the military uses in its gun cases carried into combat. These are TSA approved and have a foam interior that will keep your gun safe, preventing it from bumping against the case walls. It locks, but must remain unlocked when you walk into the airport.

DLX Single Rifle Case

This case is designed to keep a gun's scope safe, so you don't have to separate the rifle and scope for travel. This case has a hard outside and protective interlocking foam. It also come with locks, so you can lock it once TSA has already checked it.
