The quality of speaker systems at a concert can make all the difference between a good gig and a bad one. Whether it is a sports arena, an open field or an intimate music club, having good quality speakers is essential. Top quality concert speakers not only need to deliver excellent standards of audio, they also need to be robust, hard wearing and above all, reliable.

JBL's professional audio division has a wide range of concert speaker systems. Listed under its tour sound products, the JBL VERTEC systems are amongst the best concert speaker systems available. Used in large venues such as arenas and stadiums, VERTEC systems are known as line array systems due to their stacked design. With an impressive roster of clients that includes Bruce Springsteen and Radio City Music Hall in New York, the quality of VERTEC is undeniable. At the core of the VERTEC sound is the exclusive differential drive, a dual voiced coil that increases the frequency response and power output of the speakers to produce loud volumes without distortion. Groundbreaking technology in the form of the JBL Drivepack external power supply, and sound quality of the dual differential speakers make the JBL VERTEC system one of the best in the world.

Mackie HD Series

Mackie's HD series consists of several powered loudspeakers designed for use in a live venue. The range includes subwoofers, array systems and pole-mounted speakers. The HD stands for High Definition and these speakers are all about that. The subwoofers are available in two different power ratings, 1200 watts and 1600 watts. Both models phase alignment and fine tuning functions to provide eloquent bass sounds. The array system is made from 2-way speakers that can be connected to make a complete array set-up. With 1,200 watts of peak power, the array system provides the volume and clarity needed to fill a large venue. Its 12-inch speakers provide the sound and tone. Add to these units a range of loudspeakers and you have the complete system for a concert. Several different models make up the loudspeaker range, all of which have a peak output of 1,200 watts.

Samson Live! Series

Suited for smaller venues and clubs, the Samson Live! Series are a cost effective range of concert speakers that still offer great quality audio. The range consists of five different speaker models. These are the 612, 612M, 615, 1212 and 1215 units. The 612 and 615 loudspeakers deliver 250 watts to their low frequency drivers and a further 50 watts to the high frequency compression driver in the top of the cabinet. The two-way, active system gives the speaker system the versatility to be used in a variety of venues. The 1212 and 1215 have a total of 500 watts split between two low frequency drivers and a high frequency compression driver. Suitable for live music clubs, these free standing units are able to be left vertical or laid out horizontally. A three-inch voice coil provides clarity at loud volumes. The final unit is the 612M. This is a stage monitor that bounces back the sound to the performers on stage. A similar spec to the loudspeakers, the monitor delivers a crisp signal back to the musician, ensuring that they can hear everything.
