Briggs and Stratton build engines for push mowers and other garden appliances. They make 11 series of push-mower engines, which are the Professional Series 875, the Professional Series 850, the Professional Series 775, the 700 Series DOV, the 700 Series, the 675 Series, the 625 Series, the 550 Series, the 500 Series, the 450 Series and the 300 Series. They are all single-cylinder gasoline powered engines.

Professional Series

All Professional Series engines are 15.6 inches long, 12.8 inches wide and 9.4 inches high. The fuel tank holds .3 gallons and the oil capacity is 567gr. The 775 model weighs 11.1kg and the 875 and 850 weigh 11 Kilogram each. All feature the ReadyStart system that eliminates the need for priming or choking before starting the engine.

The 875 model has 8.75 foot-pounds of torque and 190 cubic centimetres of engine displacement.The 850 has 8.5 foot-pounds of torque and 190 cubic centimetres of engine displacement. The 775 model has 7.75 foot-pounds of torque and 175 cubic centimetres of engine displacement.

700 Series

The 700 Series has 7 foot-pounds of torque. The 700 DOV has 161cc of displacement and the 700 model has 190cc. Both have a performance muffler, ReadyStart system, 591ml of oil capacity, and a rewind starter. The 700 DOV tank holds .275 gallons of fuel, and the 700 holds .25 gallons of fuel. The 700 DOV is 14.5 inches long, 12.8 inches wide, 10 inches high and weighs 10.9 Kilogram; the 700 is 13.8 inches long, 12.1 inches wide, 9.8 inches high and also weighs 10.9 Kilogram

625 and 675 Series

The 625 and 675 both have 190cc of engine displacement, but the 675 produces 6.75 foot-pounds of torque to the 625's 6.25 foot-pounds of torque. They are 13.8 inches long, 12.1 inches wide, 9.8 inches high and weigh 10.9 Kilogram. Both have a fuel capacity of .25 gallons and an oil capacity of 591ml. They feature rewind starter and performance muffler, while the 675 has the ReadyStart system.

500 and 550 Series

The 500 and 550 both have 158cc of displacement, but the 550 produces 5.5 foot-pounds of torque compared to the 500's 5 foot-pound of torque. The engines are 12.8 inches long, 11.5 inches wide, 9.5 inches high and weigh 8.98 Kilogram. Both have a fuel capacity of .225 gallons and an oil capacity of 591ml. They have a rewind starter and a round muffler.

450 and 300 Series

The most basic of the push mower engines, the 450 and 300 series lack performance mufflers and have the smallest torque and engine displacement at 4.5 foot-pounds and 148cc. The engines are 12.8 inches long, 11.5 inches wide, 9.5 inches high and weigh 8.98 Kilogram. The have an oil capacity of 591ml and a fuel capacity of .225 gallons.
