Wall shelves and cubes can be lifesavers in a small living space. By utilising these decorating pieces, a large number of personal belongings can be displayed in a relatively small area. This helps keep the overall space from appearing cluttered. Use your wall shelves and cubes in an eye-pleasing style to create useful and attractive decor for your home.

Nature Display

Display nature inside. Select objects from the outdoors, such as unusual stones, large pinecones, autumn-coloured leaves or small insects and butterflies that have passed on. Create a display of these items on a low-hung wall shelf or cube so visitors of all ages can enjoy them. This makes for a truly unique display, as no one else will have the exact same items. This type of display works well in an entryway or hallway.

Complementary Shelves

Hang two wall shelves of complementary lengths over one another, with about 1ft. separating them. Ideally, the shelves should have a 1ft. of difference in length, such as a pairing of 2ft. and 3ft. shelves, for the most pleasing display. Center the shorter shelf over the longer one. Create an attractive display consisting of a family or nature-themed photograph and a few small curiosities on each shelf, with the photographs situated on opposite sides of the shelves.

Cubes for Storage

Wall cubes of various sizes can be hung together to create a cohesive arrangement. Opt for a small, medium and large cube, hanging the two smaller ones next to the larger one, balancing the space between them. Arrange small vases of flowers, miniature statues or other curiosities in the cubes to add a bit of brightness to the room. Ensure that all of the cubes are the same colour, or in the same colour family, in order to draw them together. This idea can be used with large numbers of cubes to cover more area in a room or provide additional storage space.
