One distributor of the Datatool S4, Belfort Trading in South Africa, touts it as the best-selling motorcycle alarm in the United Kingdom, with nearly half of all motorcycles in the country sporting this type of system. The system features an alarm and a system for immobilising the bike in the case of theft or tampering. The system is made of two components: a credit card-sized alarm and a key fob that doubles as a remote control. The Datatool S4 is primarily available in the U.K., for around £307 U.S. as of 2010.

Thor Motorcycle Anti-theft System

The Thor Motorcycle Anti-theft System is a series of components for securing a motorcycle. There are several variations on the system, but in general all come with a shock sensor, 110 decibel siren, flashing light warning, remote transmitter key fobs and a bike locator feature. Some packages include a remote starter. This system is well-regarded both for its ease of installation and for its relative cheapness, making it one of the top-selling motorcycle alarms in the U.S. Packages are available for £113 as of 2010.

Alarm-maker Aritronix has manufactured one of the best-selling motorcycle alarm systems in the U.S. for a number of years. The Scorpio alarm comes in a variety of configurations and with a variety of features. At their basic level, Scorpio alarms feature shock and perimeter motion sensors, ignition disabler, 120 dB sirens and remote control key fobs. Higher-end systems come with features such as GPS tracking devices and remote control access over cellphone networks. Prices range from £214 to £331 for complete systems.
