NewSoft's Presto! PageManager 9 is a document management application designed to assist in scanning, sharing and organising documents and files. PageManager 9 also features file compression and conversion utilities, an integrated FTP client and Web browser, and network information sharing capabilities. There are solutions to three issues that have been reported involving PageManager 9's document scanning feature, according to NewSoft's website. These issues are responsible for the "Not enough space," "Unable to retrieve image from device" and "Form has not been set up yet" error messages.

Not Enough Space

The "Not Enough Space" error message may occur after you attempt to use a function in PageManager 9 if your computer does not have adequate free space for the program to use. Use the Microsoft Windows Disc Cleanup utility to create free space on your hard drive. Exit PageManager 9 prior to using Disc Cleanup.

Open the Windows "Start" menu to select "All Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools" and open "Disc Cleanup." Click the check-boxes beside each type of file you would like the Disc Cleanup utility to delete and click "Clean Up System Files." You may also lower PageManager 9's scanning resolution to 200 or 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) to prevent this error from occurring in the future.

Unable to Retrieve Image From Device

The "Unable to Retrieve Image From Device" error may occur when you attempt to use the "Scan" function in PageManager 9 because the program was unable to find your scanner's device driver on your computer. Open PageManager 9 and access the "File" menu to select "Select Source." Select your scanner from the list of available scanning devices and click "OK" to save these changes. If your scanner is not listed, you may need to reinstall your scanner's driver software.

Form Has Not Been Set Up Yet

If you recieve an error message stating "A form has not been set up yet. Please select one form by clicking Form Dispatch Manager from the Edit Menu" when you attempt to scan a document in PageManager 9, you must disable the program's "Form Dispatch" option. Open the "File" menu, select "Scan Setting" and clear the check-box beside the "Form Dispatch" option to disable this feature. Click "OK" to save these changes and exit the "Scan Settings" dialogue window.
