  1. 1

Lace your Converse high-tops correctly. Insert the tip of the shoelace into the top left hole and pull it through, going from top to bottom. Repeat with the other end of the shoelace on the top right hole.

  2. 2

Grab each end of the shoelace by the tips and pull them toward you. This will create a straight band of shoelace across the top holes of the shoe. Make sure the right and left ends of the shoelaces are of equal length. Take the left end of the shoelace at the very tip and pull it diagonally across to the right hole that is second from the top. Insert the tip into this hole, going from the top down,

  3. 3

Take the right end of the shoelace and pull it diagonally across to the hole that is on the left, second from the top. Insert it into the hole going from the top down. Continue to lace your shoes in this manner until four pairs of holes are laced, which will be a grand total of eight holes. This will leave eight holes unlaced.

  4. 4

Put a sock on one foot and place it in the shoe. Pull the laces towards you, tightening the laces, so the shoe hugs your foot. Yank the tongue of the shoe away from you.

  5. 5

Tie the shoelaces in a snug but not tight bow underneath the tongue of the shoe. Pull the tongue of the shoe back towards you, so that it rests against your foot or sticks straight up, somewhat cockeyed, depending on your preference. Pull the bottoms of your skinny jeans down so you conceal your socks beneath the jeans.
