Proxy Avoidance Tools

Updated February 21, 2017

A proxy server is an intermediary server between a computer or software program and another entity. The proxy server will review the request and then filter that information, and it usually filters information via protocols or IP (Internet protocol) addresses. If you wish, however, to surf the Internet without displaying your IP address, you can use proxy avoidance software to bypass the proxy server and surf the Internet anonymously.

Winnow Anonymous Proxy 4.1

This is an Internet utility that allows you to surf the Internet without exposing your IP address to a proxy server. The Winnow Anonymous Proxy works by giving you a different IP address to use when you are online, and websites will not be able to cache (save) your unique IP address. You can export a list of available anonymous proxy server information to an HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), TXT (Text) or XLS (Microsoft Excel) file. The program will remove any anonymous proxy server addresses that are no longer active. You must purchase a license to use the full version of this software, but there is a shareware (free trial download) version available. The Winnow Anonymous Proxy 4.1 software program is compatible with Windows 95, 98, Me (Millennium), NT (3.x and 4.x) and XP.

Bypass Proxy Tool 1.12

The Bypass Proxy Tool 1.12 is a free tool that is compatible with Windows 2000, XP and NT. The program basically creates for you a proxy avoidance website. You will host this website from your computer, and you can access this website even from a remote computer. You can log into your proxy server first, and then open up your web browser. This tool allows you to surf the Internet without exposing your real IP address. You can also customise this program to fit your needs.

Elite Proxy Switcher 1.06D

This tool hides your real IP address and gives you a fake IP address when you are searching the Internet. The goal of this program is to protect your IP address and privacy even when you are accessing potentially dangerous sites. The program will test the settings of the proxy IP address that you chose and then change the settings of your Internet browser. With this program, you can obtain new proxy IP addresses on a daily basis as long as you subscribe to their list service. It is compatible with both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, and it is also compatible with Windows 98, 2000, Me, NT, Vista and XP. There is a fee to use this software program, but there is also a shareware version.
