Having a new baby is an exciting time for both the parents and the entire family. Many friends and families get together to celebrate the coming of the newborn by throwing baby showers for the parents. In addition to receiving gifts, visiting with friends and family and eating, some baby shower hostesses plan fun games. A friendly game of charades is a great way to get the guests interacting with one another and laughing as they tease the soon-to-be parents.

Charade clues themed for a mother's pregnancy can be both funny and informative regarding what being pregnant is all about. Clues about the mother can include a growing belly, swollen ankles, nonstop cravings and morning sickness. Though most of the pregnancy is about the mother, there are clues for charades about the father, too. Have clues regarding the father's late-night milkshake pickups, dealing with mood swings or rubbing his wife's feet.

There are different ways to give clues regarding the birth of a baby during a baby shower game of charades. You will want to include the basics, such as her water breaking, breathing exercises, pushing and holding the newborn. Other clues can also include videotaping, labour pains or the father's pacing the hallway.

Baby Care

The next step of clues for a game of baby charades is general baby care, including changing diapers, rocking baby to sleep and feeding baby. Other clues can include running out of baby wipes, a father changing his first diaper and trying to figure out how the car seat fits in the car. These can be both informative about baby care and funny depending upon the new parent's sense of humour.

Growing Up

For growing-up clues in a game of baby charades, include everything a parent has to deal with as the child grows up. You can focus on firsts, such as first steps, first day of school or first date. Other ideas can include playing sports, acting in a school play, high school graduation or going off to college. Try to base the clues on the life of the new parents, which will act as a memory for them and their families and give them a clue of what life will be like if their kids turn out like them.
