Spider Solitaire is one of a suite of fun, time-wasting games that comes pre-installed in most recent versions of Windows. Like many games, Spider Solitaire has a few vulnerabilities that allow the user to cheat the game. While there's no ribbon or prize for having a great score in Spider Solitaire, secret hot keys, tricks of the save command, and other methods can be used to increase your score.

Avoid Losing a Game

Play a losing game until the last move. Exit, but save the game when asked. Select "Yes" again to replace your saved game, then start the game over again. The losing game will not count against you in your overall score.

Win Without Playing

Start a new game of Spider Solitaire. Instead of playing the game, hold down the control key [CTRL] and numbers 1, 2, and 3. Continue holding all four keys for 5 seconds.

Change Your Scores

Set your scores to any number by editing saved data in the Windows Registry. Click on the Start button and select "Run" from the menu. Enter "regedit" in the box that appears, and hit the enter key. Open the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" folder, then the "Software" folder, then the "Microsoft" folder. Locate the "Spider" folder and click to open it. The list on the right-hand window will show program variables corresponding to scores in the Spider Solitaire game. Double click a variable to edit it, then save.
