Very few interior decorating colour schemes have the sophistication of a black and white colour scheme. Every component in this decorating scheme goes with everything else. It's easy to add or subtract components of the decor without ruining the whole effect. Use black more sparingly than white, as black in a bedroom can be a little overwhelming.

The obvious colour choice for the walls is white, although black would be ultra-sophisticated. Another option is to use a wallpaper in a black and white print. Depending on the print, the effect could be sophisticated, modern or jungle, as a in zebra, snow leopard or snow tiger print.
Use coordinating black and white prints for the bedspread and curtains. Mix a stripe with a plaid and add a small printed floral. Another combination is a fat stripe with a large floral and an abstract print. Vary the size and type of prints because they're all the same colour.
Paint the furniture with an oriental shiny black lacquer and feature metal accents in polished chrome or shiny silver. Espresso-coloured, stained-wood dressers and nightstands are an acceptable alternative to the black lacquer. Wood furnishings can also be painted white in a black and white bedroom.
Art and Accessories
Find a piece of art for the feature wall above the bed. Choose a picture that features a bright colour, and use that bright colour to accent the room. This will provide a pop of colour to catch the eye and brighten up the expanse of black and white. Good accent colours for black and white rooms include deep yellow, red, deep rose-pink, fuchsia and lime green, also called kiwi. Don't go overboard with the accent colours. A few pillows on the bed, a pillow on a side chair and maybe a vase or other accessory on a shelf or table will provide a pop of accent colour without overwhelming the black and white colour scheme.
