Don't limit yourself to a store's home decor section or a party supply store when looking to spruce up a room or decorating for a party. Think outside of the box next time you are hosting a party or making over a room and wander over to the kitchen section of the store and pick up some margarita glasses.

Beach Decor

Add to the beach decor of any room or party with a margarita glass decoration. Fill a margarita glass of any size two thirds of the way full with sand. Use plain sand for a natural look or coloured sand from the craft store for a more funky look. Place a few seashells and a sand dollar on top of the sand. Use the margarita glass decoration as a party table centrepiece or set it on your dresser in a beach-themed bedroom.

Margarita Glass Place Cards

Let your Mexican fiesta party guests know where to sit at the dinner table with handcrafted margarita glass place cards. Decorate regular size plain glass margarita glasses with glass paint. Give each glass a unique design so they can be quickly spotted from across the room. Write each guests name on one of the glasses and place that glass at the guests spot at the table. After dinner, while the guests are mingling, everyone will know which glass is theirs. Margarita glass place cards also double as a homemade party favour for your guests.

Subtle Party Decoration

Use margarita glasses as a more subtle party decoration by using them to hold food at a buffet table. Use regular size margarita glasses to hold smaller food items such as olives, candies or cocktail shrimp. Use large margarita glasses to hold size dishes such as potato salad, fruit salad and coleslaw. Use margarita glasses in a variety of sizes to add visual appeal to your buffet table. Use margarita glasses to hold ice cream toppings such as chocolate chips and sprinkles for an ice cream buffet. Use them to hold toppings such as dices tomato and onion for a taco buffet.

Floating Candles

Make floating candle centrepieces for a party of romantic floating candle decorations for a relaxing bathroom or bedroom. Fill large margarita glasses half way full with water. Place coloured glass pebbles in the bottom of the glass or decorative rocks. Add a few floating candles to the glass along with some flower petals. Tie a ribbon that coordinates with the colour of the flower petals around the base of the glass. Light the candles and dim the lights to set a romantic mood.

Diningroom Table Decoration

Use a large margarita glass to make an everyday dining room table decoration that will also keep the room smelling sweet. Fill a large margarita glass with lemons, limes or a mixture of the two like you might fill a glass bowl or urn. Set the fruit filled glass in the centre of your table on a doily or table runner. These citrus fruits can last for a week or more while sitting out, depending on how warm the room is. They will make your dining room smell divine while also adding a pop of colour.
