The TomTom Go 720 gives you the systematic directions you need when travelling. It also offers the capability to connect to your cell phone through Bluetooth technology. Connecting your cell phone to the TomTom Go 720 allows hands-free talking and data transfers and lets you access real-time traffic updates, traffic-camera locations and weather updates. The TomTom Go 720 does not connect with all cell phone models. However, all providers offer phones with Bluetooth GPS connectivity. (Section 1, Bluetooth Compatibility near bottom of page)

Motorola Phones

Motorola offers 19 phones that are compatible with the TomTom Go 720. AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless offer the most popular of the Motorola phones, the Razr. Connecting the Razr to a TomTom Go 720 provides full data access to the GPS system. The connected phone will receive up-to-the minute traffic updates and information on road closures and weather conditions. You can also connect via Bluetooth with the Motorola1605, i870 and i880. However, you can use the connection only for hands-free calling. AT&T also offers the Motorola SLVR L7, MPx220, Q9H and ROKR E1. Each allows for data transfer.

LG Phones

AT&T and Verizon Wireless offer LG series phones that allow Bluetooth connectivity to GPS navigation systems. Verizon Wireless offers the LG VX5400, LG VX8350, LG VX8500, LG VX8700 and LG VX9900. Each provides Bluetooth connection with the TomTom Go 720 for hands-free calling only. AT&T offers the CU575 and LG CE110. The LG CU575 offers full data transfer; the LG CE110 allows only hands-free calling.

Blackberry Phones

Many cell phone users choose Smartphones such as the Blackberry. AT&T and T-Mobile offer four Blackberry models that can connect to the TomTom Go 720. AT&T has the Blackberry 8820 and 8300 Curve; T-Mobile offers the Blackberry 7800g and 8100. Blackberry enables hands-free calling but does not allow data transfer from the GPS for up-to-the minute services.

iPhones are a popular choice for AT&T customers. The TomTom Go 720 can connect to the iPhone3, iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 series. Bluetooth connections with an iPhone allow hands-free calling and the transferring of data to the TomTom Go 720. You can transfer your iPhone and address book to the TomTom. However, Apple restricts the transfer of data from outside devices to the iPhone.
