Party food is essential in the success of any kid's party. When planning party foods for a kid's party, you want to keep it as easy and as simple as possible. Pizza

Pick up pizza for your kid's party. It is usually less expensive when you pick it up rather than rely on delivery. Most kids like pizza and you won't have to cook. It's hard to beat pizza as an easy and inexpensive party food.

Finger Foods

Finger foods are also great for kids because the food is easy for them to eat. Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, meatballs, pigs in a blanket or chicken nuggets. For a themed party, use cookie cutters on the sandwiches to add to the fun. Other kid foods that go well at parties include mini hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken wings.

To add to the fun, label the food with fun names such as seadogs for the hot dogs and golden nuggets for chicken nuggets.

Snacks

Easy snacks to put out consist of popcorn, pretzels, goldfish, raisins and fruit pieces or mini fruit kebabs. Make trays of vegetables and ranch dip to keep the kids eating healthy. These snacks are easy for kids to just grab a handful or cupful and head off to play with his friends.

Drinks

Mix sherbet ice cream and ginger ale to make a simple, tasty punch. Put out large jugs of Kool-Aid, tropical punch or water for the children to drink. Small drinks are available at most dollar stores and can be put on ice in cooler.

Food Trays

If you do not want to make food, check with your local grocery store about party trays. Grocery stores make fruit, cheese, chicken and vegetable trays. Small trays are already made up in the store. Larger trays can be pre-ordered and ready on the date you need them.

Desserts

Put out cookies and cupcakes for dessert, as most kids love these two desserts. Other dessert items to put out include candy, a cake and ice cream. For a themed party, purchase cupcakes that go along with the party theme or make your own cupcakes and decorate theme with party theme items.
