Away from the crowds of the Costa del Sol, Northern Spain offers a more tranquil vacation among stunning scenery and lively local culture. The cities of Bilbao, Pamplona and Santiago de Compostela are some of the highlights of the region for lovers of history, art and beautiful architecture. The beaches of the Costa Verde are equally attractive, and appeal to active types with a range of water sports, swimming and snorkelling.
