Celebrate your birthday in a fun and silly way. Rather than dwelling on turning a year older, maximise your enjoyment. Bring together family and friends to participate in games and events with a silly twist for a memorable birthday celebration. Let loose, and encourage your family and friends to do the same. A silly birthday celebration means you'll start your new year with a smile, not to mention plenty of laughter.

Picture Scavenger Hunt

Spend your birthday exploring your city with a photo scavenger hunt. This activity will keep you and your friends busy and laughing throughout the day. Before your birthday, brainstorm silly activities that you would like your guests to do on your birthday. Divide your group into teams, arm them with a camera and send them out to complete their tasks. Use ideas from "The Great Scavenger Hunt," which is a national, 24-hour scavenger hunt that takes place one weekend every year. For example, challenge teams to take a picture of the entire team playing in a ball pit. Or play a game of "Twister" in an elevator. Or have a mock cookout in the lawn and garden section of a store. You can add to the silliness by asking the teams to come up with a team name and costumes that represent that name. The mere vision of your friends taking on your city in crazy costumes to hunt down items will surely bring a smile to your face.

Talent Show

Host a birthday party talent show, and have your friends and family send you their birthday wishes by showcasing their silliest talents. This talent show doesn't call for guests to sing a ballad or play the piano, however. Bring out the hilarity by asking guests to perform their strangest talent. Maybe your sister can tie a cherry stem with her tongue, or you double-jointed best friend has all sorts of contortions she can show off. You and your guests will get a kick out of everyone's obscure habits and enjoy celebrating your birthday with plenty of silliness and laughter.

Costume Party

A crazy costume party encourages your guests to break out of their shell and get silly. Choose a costume party theme that aligns with your interests, and don't be afraid to get silly. You can ask guests to come dressed as their favourite celebrities or couples, cartoon characters or rock stars. Or, choose a more general theme like "Wild West," "Outer Space" or "The 1980s," and see what guests come up with. Play music and games that fit the costume theme you choose. You can even challenge guests to stay in character all night--the guest who is the best at this task can win a prize. You'll enjoy transforming yourself into another person and acting wacky on your birthday.
