The 4.6 litre Ford engine has been around since 1991 when it was installed in the 1991 Lincoln Town Car. Since that start, the 4.6 has been put in nearly every full-sized Ford, Mercury and Lincoln car, truck and SUV. There are three versions of the 4.6 litre produced through the years; two-valve, three-valve and four-valve.
