North England offers a wide range of classic car shows. If you're interested in anything from steam engines to mid-century cars, domestic or international makes, you can find a car show with such vehicles on display. Most shows run for one day and are typically presented by local car clubs.

Cheshire Classic Car and Motorcycle Show

The Cheshire Classic Car and Motorcycle Show has been held continuously since 1982, generally at the end of the summer. The show takes place at Capesthorne Hall, where visitors can see over 500 classic vehicles, including over 100 motorcycles. Over 40 trade stands offer related products or concessions. The event includes judged competitions with a "Best of Show" award presented at the end of the day. Mercedes Benz provides a staged display in front of the Hall, and the area is surrounded by parkland, nestled next to a lake. Visitors to the show may enjoy free parking and are permitted to bring dogs on leashes. Entrance to the estate's formal gardens is included with the show admission. Entrance to the house is available at an additional fee.

Lancashire Classic Car and Bike Show

Running since 1985, the Lancashire Classic Car and Bike Show takes place in early Autumn at Hoghton Tower. Typically, the event attracts around 400 cars plus classic motorcycles and around 25 stands. The show features commentary and competitions throughout the day. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Admission to Hoghton Tower and the grounds is available at an additional charge. There is a cafe on the grounds as well as catering for the event.

Nostell Priory Steam Fair

Offering a glimpse of automobile's first appearances, the Nostell Priory Steam Fair features a range of classic cars, motorcycles, tractors, commercial and military vehicles and stationary engines. In addition, visitors can enjoy trade stands, crafts, catered food, an old-fashioned and modern funfair, quad bike rides, bungee trampolines and entertainment in the main arena. The event takes place in mid to late September at the medieval Nostell Priory. Visitors are welcome to explore the estate, which spans over 300 acres and was commissioned in 1733. The fair has run since the 1970s. Parking is free and dogs are welcome. Discounts are available for families.
