Many men and women suffer from baldness, loss of hair, or thin, limp hair. For those suffering from these problems, recent advances in chemical, medical and organic sciences have given birth to many products designed to fight these problems, ranging from shampoos available in the grocery store or online, to home remedies, to prescription products.

Minoxidil Lotion

Minoxidil lotion, when applied over a maximum period of six weeks, can control and stop hair loss. With continued application, over a period of three to six months, new, thicker hair will grow. It is important that the lotion be continued if desired results occur. One millilitre of lotion should be applied to clean, dry scalp, twice a day. The lotion should not be rubbed in. The lotion is available by prescription in two per cent and five per cent concentration.

Re-Thickening Protein Elixir

Because hair is 88 per cent protein, this cream penetrates the hair shaft and causes it to swell, adding permanent volume. The elixir should be used with the accompanying re-thickening shampoo, which removes dirt and grease build-up in hair, keeping it from being weighed down, and keeping hair manageable.

Natural Protien

One solution to add thickness, volume, and length to thin and thinning hair is to add protein. There are many products that can do this, but if these products are above your budget, a simple solution is to beat an egg into your conditioner. Leave in for two minutes, then rinse completely. If you use this solution, do not use heat, such as a curling iron, straight iron or blow dryer, to style your hair.

Longhairlovers Leave-in Treatment

Use a leave-in conditioner to smooth hair and protect it from heat styling, sun, pollution and other harmful additives. The leave-in conditioner contains aloe vera to protect the hair, and proteins and fatty acids to strengthen and thicken the hair. With continued use, the leave-in treatment encourages hair growth.
