Angels are beautiful and represent love, peace and joy. Angels make ideal Christmas decorations but are also wonderful to look at year-round. Many people love the idea of having a guardian angel looking out for them. Help your kids make their own guardian angels with simple angel paper crafts.
Download and print out the heart angel templates at dltk-holidays.com. Colour the templates, if desired. The big heart is the angel's body, with the two bumps serving as legs and the point going up. Tape the smaller hearts on the back, sideways, to make wings, tape the head on the heart's point, attach the belt, and place the smaller heart on the belt. Use this angel for a wall decoration or give it to a loved one.
Flying Angels Mobile
The fun part of this project is finding different types of paper to make the angels out of. Use construction paper, tissue paper, doilies, or patterned scrapbook paper. Download the template at thebestkidsbooksite.com and make as many angels as you like. Use a plastic hanger or criss-cross two plastic straws and tape them together to form the base of a mobile. Decorate the angels with glitter and markers and punch a hole in each one. Hang them from the mobile base with ribbons.
Fold a piece of construction paper in half to create a card. Paint your child's hand with white washable paint. Have the child press her painted hand, fingers down, onto the paper. This handprint will form the angel's body. Use fingers dipped in paint to make wings on each side. Paint a round head on top and let the paint dry. Using markers, make a face on the angel. Write a sweet message inside and give the guardian angel to someone you love.
