A way to relax (Indoor Pool at Hearst Castle image by Sloguy from Fotolia.com)

Traditional Turkish bath houses produce heat with a steamer, whereas British bath houses produce heat with a heater. To distinguish between the two, British bath houses are referred to as Victorian Turkish bath houses. The Turkish bathing experience starts with a steam room to relax the body, followed by a series of heated chambers to purify and detoxify the body. Guests then immerse themselves into a cool plunge pool and round off the experience in the frigidarium, a relaxation room.
